We’re committed to making your education accessible – and celebrating the achievements you bring with you. McMaster Social Sciences offers financial support to help you thrive.

Faculty of Social Sciences Scholars Award

$25,000

For full-time international students who are entering with an average of 85% or higher, you’ll receive $10,000 in your first year, followed by $5,000 per year through Levels 2 to 4 should you meet the academic requirements.

This award celebrates your academic excellence and supports you throughout your undergraduate journey at McMaster.

Faculty of Social Sciences Global Gateway Award

$2,500

For full-time international students with an incoming average below 85%. It’s our way of helping you start strong and focus on what matters most: your education. This is a one time award offered in first year.

How to Apply as an International Student

1. Apply Through OUAC OUAC

Submit your application to McMaster University through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC).

2. Meet English Language Requirements English Proficiency

If required, provide proof of English proficiency through an accepted test or qualification.

3. Submit Your Documents

Upload your transcripts and any additional required materials through your applicant portal.

4. Track Your Application & Accept Your Offer

Monitor your application status, complete any outstanding requirements, and accept your offer through your applicant portal.

5. Apply For Your Study Permit (Visa) Study Permit

Begin your study permit application as early as possible to ensure you’re ready to start your studies in Canada.
