Bring Your Class To Campus
Interested in bringing your class to campus? We’d be happy to work with you to create a tailored on-campus experience that aligns with your schedule, your students’ interests, and your learning objectives. Complete our request form to begin planning your visit.
Our outreach program offers customized learning opportunities designed to support high school educators in enriching their classroom social sciences curriculum.
Below is a selection of activities that can be scheduled on a date and time that works best for you and your students.
Guided & Social Sciences Tours
Led by one of our student ambassadors, a Social Sciences tour will be included in your visit to campus so that prospective students can start to picture themselves at McMaster.
This tour will explore common spaces and lecture theatres that are popular to Social Sciences students. Alternatively, please complete a School Group Tour Request if you wish to participate in a general campus tour.
Introduction To Social Sciences Presentation
As part of your visit, we offer a 30-minute introduction to Social Sciences presentation. This session provides an overview of admission to our Level I programs, including Social Sciences I, Economics I, and Health & Society I. It also introduces our 12 undergraduate programs and offers insight into campus life and student experience.
We will highlight the many ways students can shape their degree through experiential learning opportunities and program combinations. The presentation concludes with a short question-and-answer period to help support the transition from high school to university.
Academic Activities
Experience A University-Level Lecture
Give your students a idea of what learning at the university level is really like by sitting in on a live undergraduate lecture. Classes are offered by the following departments for Winter term 2026:
Lecture times are limited and offered based on availability.
Hands-On Anthropology Learning Experiences Engage In Anthropology
Students can participate in hands-on learning experiences such as an Archaeology Lab, a Biological Anthropology Lab, or a Mortuary Archaeology session focused on cemetery studies. These activities provide an opportunity to engage with anthropological methods and materials in an interactive setting.
We also welcome special requests from high schools seeking experiences beyond our standard offerings and, when possible, can accommodate tailored sessions, such as a past special topic workshop on the War of 1812.
